Don’t Just Donate to Save the Fox Now… Promise Your Future Support With a Pledge
With only four months left in which to raise the money needed to purchase the Fox Theatre to save it from demolition, the Fullerton Historic Theatre
Foundation needs a record of every dollar it can count on towards this effort, whether it be given now or once the Foundation is ready to purchase the
Fox. The Foundation is over halfway toward obtaining the $3.5 million to purchase the building. Pledges allow the Foundation to know they can count on
support, but will only collect those funds if the Foundation knows they will achieve the funds to purchase the building. That assurance is achieved in
large part by these pledges of future support.
The Fox Theatre was built by the same firm that built the legendary Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the recently restored Grauman’s Egyptian Theatre, and
hundreds of other notable Hollywood landmark buildings. It is one of the last surviving courtyard theatres, and was the site of many previews and
premieres.
As part of the pledge effort, former Fullerton Mayor Molly McClanahan and Community Volunteer Pam Clark are spearheading the $1,000 x 1,000 Campaign.
The premise is simple: if 1,000 Fox supporters pledge $1,000 each, a full $1 million dollars will be raised towards purchasing the Fox.
All pledges of $1,000 or more will be permanently recognized in the theatre. For people interested in memorializing a loved one or promoting their
business, Fox naming opportunities exist for the stage, lobbies, and courtyards. Theatre seats are available with memorial plaques for pledges of $5,000
and $2,500. Please join the children of Raymond Elementary School who will receive the first one with their recent $2,500 contribution. Also, the Anaheim
Historical Society is challenging its membership to pledge the funds necessary for a naming opportunity on a theatre seat.
Every dollar contributed or pledged (pledges only qualify at the time of collection) is tax-deductible, and goes to help save the Fox. Also keep in
mind that every dollar you donate will be doubled in value due to the City of Fullerton’s matching $1.65 million challenge grant. Additionally, if an
employer matches contributions, then every dollar pledged (or donated) will be quadrupled!
